Einat Amir was born in Jerusalem in 1979 and currently lives in New York. She works in the media of Video Installation and Live Performance. She received her MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University in 2009. Her work engages with contemporary social – political issues like power relations, sexuality, representation and communication.
Amir’s work has been shown at PS1 Contemporary Art Center, New York, PERFORMA09, New York, VOLTA Basel, VOLTA NY, SCARAMOUCHE Gallery, New York, Winzavod Art Center, Moscow , Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, Israel; Haifa Museum of Art, Israel , Rosenfeld Gallery, Tel Aviv, CareOf gallery, Milan, Städtische Galerie, Bremen, and Digital Art Center, Hulon, among other venues.
