Shahar Marcus was born in 1971 and lives and works in Tel Aviv.  He is an interdisciplinary artist who works primarily in video, performance and sculpture.

Marcus often works with organic, perishable materials, such as dough, bread, orange juice and ice, in relation to his own body. His relationship to his materials examines the position and role of his body as both human and creator, and his choice of perishables likewise highlights the temporal nature of art and life.
